"You’re a Government Mole!" King Saha Fires Back at Munyagwa After Education Insults

The Ugandan political-entertainment landscape is currently ablaze with a fiery war of words between musician King Saha and politician Mubarak Munyagwa. What started as a seemingly innocuous critique has escalated into a full-blown verbal brawl, leaving onlookers both amused and aghast. At the heart of the matter lies political allegiance, perceived influence, and a sharp clash of personalities.
The initial spark ignited when a video surfaced showing King Saha publicly chastising Munyagwa. Saha, a vocal supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP), warned Munyagwa against associating himself with the party during media appearances, questioning his political relevance and dismissing his influence within opposition circles.
Munyagwa's Dismissal and Academic Jab
Munyagwa, never one to shy away from a confrontation, swiftly brushed off Saha's remarks, declaring them "meaningless" and incapable of shaking his political career. But he didn't stop there. The outspoken politician launched a personal attack, taking aim at King Saha's academic background. Munyagwa boldly claimed the singer lacked sufficient formal education, alleging he "stopped in Primary Two, second term."
"His insults mean nothing to me," Munyagwa declared, "and they cannot shake my political career in any way."
He further rejected any comparison between musical popularity and political leadership. "You can fill a stadium with fans, even comedians do. But leadership is about ideology and service, not crowds at concerts," he asserted, drawing a clear line between entertainment and governance.
Saha Hits Back: "Teaching Munyagwa Everything He Doesn't Know"
The "P2 dropout" jibe, however, proved to be a critical misstep. Just hours after Munyagwa's remarks, King Saha retaliated with equal ferocity in an interview with Sanyuka TV.
"I will spend the entire year teaching Munyagwa everything he doesn’t know," Saha declared, promising an extended tutorial for his political adversary. "This matter demands serious knowledge, yet he treats everything as a joke. How do you celebrate a loss?"
Saha then escalated his attack, questioning Munyagwa's true loyalty, alleging his actions align more with the government than the opposition. "He’s for the government, he doesn’t belong to the opposition. Everyone in opposition right now is crying voter bribery but not him. Stop discussing him in matters of the oppressed."
He even referenced Munyagwa's previous requests for his school report cards with a snide remark: "He was full on pilau (when asking for Saha’s school report cards), let him eat his food and get full because he won’t manage this."
