Bebe Cool Acuses Former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi Of Fraud

Bebe Cool has ignited a social media (X) storm after accusing UK-based former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi of involvement in an alleged scam connected to his son’s football career.

The singer, whose son Alpha has previously featured for NEC FC and KCCA FC, claimed he was deceived last year by someone he believed was Mutesi following interactions linked to Arsenal Football Club and opportunities for the young player.

In a series of posts on X, Bebe Cool shared a blurred screenshot of conversations from a UK phone number saved as “Jolly UK Arsenal Stadium” and told followers to “wait for screenshots” as he prepared to reveal more details.

“This woman stays in the UK and always watches Arsenal games. She conned me last year in the name of Rwanda and Arsenal Football Club and now she’s on another big mission,” Bebe Cool wrote.

According to the singer, the interactions began after he attended an Arsenal match at the Emirates Stadium in January last year. He said he later received a phone call and messages from someone claiming to be Mutesi.

Bebe Cool further alleged that he had gathered information linking the operation to other victims and claimed one of those affected had physically met the people involved.

On Thursday morning, Mutesi again released a public statement cautioning followers against engaging with unverified accounts created in her name.

“It has come to my attention that someone has created a fake account and is impersonating me in the names of Akansasira Jolly. I regret that some of my people have become victims. Please be cautious,” she wrote.

The dispute quickly spilled into the comment sections, where social media users from Uganda and Rwanda expressed differing opinions.

Some sympathised with Bebe Cool, arguing that online fraud has become increasingly sophisticated.

Others sided with Mutesi, noting that she had publicly warned about impersonators long before the current accusations emerged.

Several users questioned how the alleged scammers obtained Bebe Cool’s contact information, while others urged caution until concrete evidence is presented.

As the debate intensified, Bebe Cool insisted he possesses additional evidence and promised to release screenshots showing how the conversations unfolded.

By publication time, no police reports or independently verified evidence linking Mutesi to the alleged scam had been made public and Bebe Cool was still posting more “evidence”.
