French Montana Confirms Joshua Baraka ‘Morocco’ Remix Collaboration

Ugandan music has once again stepped onto the global stage as international rap star French Montana confirmed that he has recorded a verse for a remix of Joshua Baraka’s hit song Morocco. The announcement has sparked excitement among fans both locally and internationally, with many celebrating what is shaping up to be one of the biggest collaborations involving a Ugandan artist in recent times.

The original song Morocco, which appears on Joshua Baraka’s Juvie album, has continued to gain momentum across different regions, drawing attention far beyond Uganda’s borders. Its smooth sound and emotional depth appear to have caught the ear of French Montana, who has publicly shown appreciation for the track in recent weeks.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Moroccan-American rapper, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, revealed that his contribution to the remix is already complete. “I just touch down in Moroccoooo, my verse done,” he tweeted, instantly igniting conversations across social media, especially among Ugandan music lovers.

The news was warmly received in Uganda, where fans praised Joshua Baraka for consistently flying the national flag high on the global scene. Many applauded him for opening doors for Ugandan music and continuing to push local sound to international audiences, with some urging French Montana to “put Uganda on the map once again.”

The timing of the collaboration makes it even more special. Joshua Baraka was recently in Morocco, where he performed at the pre-opening ceremony of the AFCON 2025 tournament. While there, he also attended Uganda Cranes’ opening match against Tunisia, making his presence in the North African country both musical and patriotic.

French Montana is no stranger to African collaborations, having previously worked with artists from across the continent, including Uganda’s Triplets Ghetto Kids. His involvement in the Morocco remix further strengthens his connection to African music and culture, while giving Joshua Baraka an even bigger international platform.
