Spice Confirms Uganda Concert After December Setback
Jamaican dancehall superstar Spice, born Grace Latoya Hamilton, has officially confirmed that she will be performing in Uganda, bringing relief to thousands of fans who were disappointed by the cancellation of her show late last year. The artist, popularly known as the “Queen of Dancehall,” is set to finally visit the Pearl of Africa after months of uncertainty.
In December 2025, Spice was scheduled to headline the highly anticipated “Spice Queen of Dancehall Live From Jamaica” concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval. However, the event was abruptly cancelled just weeks before the show date. The cancellation sparked frustration among fans who had been eagerly waiting to see the global dancehall icon perform live in Uganda.
Following the setback, Spice addressed the matter publicly through her social media platforms. In November, she clarified that the cancellation was due to the promoters’ failure to meet agreed contractual obligations. She expressed disappointment, noting that she was genuinely excited to connect with her Ugandan fans but could not proceed under unmet agreements.
Despite the earlier disappointment, there is renewed excitement after event organizers confirmed that the concert has been rescheduled. According to the latest update, Spice’s Uganda performance will now take place after the Ugandan general elections, giving promoters ample time to organize the show properly.
Fans can expect the same electrifying performance that was initially promised. Known for her energetic stage presence, bold personality, and hit songs like So Mi Like It, Go Down Deh, and Romantic Mood, Spice is expected to deliver a memorable dancehall experience when she finally steps on a Ugandan stage.
